The Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute (NSPRI) is one of the Research Institutes under the aegis of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development which came into existence following the West African Pest Infestation Survey in 1948.

NSPRI INTERVENTION FOR SMOKING OF FISH
SmokingKiln NSPRI improved smoking kiln is an effective equipment for drying of fish. The smoking kiln is developed for smoking and drying of fish to enhance quality preservation and shelf life extension. The kiln, constructed of locally available materials is a double walled structure with 25.4 mm polyurethane insulation separating the external wall of mild steel and internal wall of galvanized steel. DEVELOPMENT OF THE ICE FISH BOX FOR POST HARVEST HANDLING OF FISH 
fishThe Institute developed Iced Fish Box for storage of fresh fish and marketing. It is a technology developed for preservation and shelf life extension of fresh fish. It is made of a double wall food grade plastic with adequate insulation. It is provided with a drain which discharges water from melted ice out of the system. Read more.....
INERT SILO FOR STORAGE OF GRAINS
SiloInert Atmosphere Silos are capable of storing grains for a long period of time. The Technology has proven very useful most especially in Hot humid climates where moisture condensation is a big problem in Conventional Metal Silos. 2 batteries of 50 Tons each were designed by NSPRI Engineers.
